How to support postural and functional symmetry in infants

Baby Moves for Professionals:  Healthy, Strong, Symmetrical

An osteopathic approach to settling, plagiocephaly, and motor skill development (including feeding)

This two-day course provides you with a comprehensive toolkit to start or uplevel your paediatric practice.

The course will cover current updates on postural asymmetry of infancy (including plagiocephaly) and how to clearly identify and treat preferences in your paediatric patients, which means that you can better diagnose, manage and quickly achieve functional improvements.

You will see the presentations of REAL infants, so that you can get an insight into how varied a paediatric consult can be…  You will learn how you can get creative and have fun when treating infants!

You will be able to practice the holds, positions and techniques on weighted dolls (the closest thing to handing real infants) so that you can feel confident before moving real infants through space and applying therapeutic directions of force in practice.

The Presenter:

Melissa McDougall B.Sc.(Clin.Sc.) M.H.Sc.(Osteo) D.P.O. IBCLC Advanced Paediatric Osteopath (as awarded by Osteopathy Australia in 2021-2024 and 2025-2027)

Melissa’s wide scope of practice allows her to teach you an integrative model of osteopathic management of infants with postural asymmetry to achieve a wide range of functional improvements.
